An Irish website which encourages disgruntled office workers to doss at work and which boasts the motto "wasting time @ work" has scooped a top European prize at an international award ceremony for online media.
The site - www.p45.net - an entertainment site which hosts an irreverent mix of humour, advice and opinion, won the jury's special prize at the IP Top Awards in Zurich last night.
In less than 18 months, P45.net has become one of the Republic's most popular satirical sites. It serves up more than one million pages to its visitors per month.
Mr Paul Clerkin of Desire Publishing, said the award was "like trying to imagine Monaghan Utd winning the Champions League". P45 beat off competition from much larger and more established media organisations such as the Wall Street Journal Online, he added.
The IP Top Awards are presented during the Content Summit in Zurich. The only other Irish site on the shortlist this year was Ireland.com. The Irish Times website was selected among 13 publications in the Best News Content Award category.
