Into Kildare has partnered up with the Irish National Stud & Gardens to give one lucky Irish Times subscriber the chance to win a behind the scenes tour of the gardens, a VIP lunch for two people at the Japenese Gardens Restaurant and tickets to Taste of Kildare.

Taste of Kildare Festival of Food & Drink, Ireland’s most exciting food festival takes place at Naas Racecourse from Friday, September 20th to Sunday, September 22nd. With over 100 artisan producers, masterclasses, workshops, food trucks and lots of restaurants, hotels and dining experiences to enjoy, a visit to Taste of Kildare is a must! The Japanese Garden’s Restaurant and The Irish National Stud is one of the participating restaurants and visitor attractions who will showcase their fabulous offering at the Taste of Kildare.

At the Irish National Stud & Gardens, you’ll embark on a guided tour with a Senior Management member, exploring the farm’s operations from birth to retirement of thoroughbred horses. The day begins with an introduction to the founder, Colonel William Hall Walker, learning about his innovative breeding practices from the early 1900s. Enjoy refreshments in the exclusive Stud Boardroom, followed by a visit to the paddocks for a private stallion parade, showcasing their top stallions. Depending on the season, you may witness a covering, see a newborn foal, or observe mares and foals, gaining insight into the daily workings of the farm. You’ll also meet retired National Hunt champions like Hurricane Fly and Faugheen, before experiencing the interactive Irish Racehorse Experience, where you can simulate owning, training, and racing a horse.

After an impressive private lunch designed by chef and Japanese Garden’s Restaurant owner, Natalie Collins, who is doing a demonstration at this years Taste of Kildare., it’s on to the Japanese Gardens. Here you will receive a private tour of these world-famous gardens, find out about the amazing men behind the design and creation and follow the footsteps of its founder and learn about the journey of life and story it portrays.

The Japanese Garden’s Restaurant is open seven days a week and serves delicious breakfast, brunch and lunch. Natalie Collins uses the freshest local ingredients and is famous for her tasty sweet treats, home baking and savoury dishes.

Terms & Conditions

1. The promotion is open to residents of Ireland aged 18 years or over except employees of the Promoter, their families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion.

2. A valid entry consists of a correct answer entered in the form above, accompanied by the entrant’s name, email address and a phone number.

3. No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete, illegible, or corrupted entries will be accepted. No entries not in accordance with the entry instructions will be accepted.

4. The Promotion will run from 11/09/2024 to midnight on 17/09/2024 inclusive.

5. All entries must be received by the Promoter by no later than midnight on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.

6. Promotion limited to one entry per person. No entrant will win more than one prize.

7. By submitting an entry to the Promoter, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

8. Responsibility will not be accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt. Entries will become the property of the Promoter.

9. The prize is a private behind the scenes tour of the Irish National Stud & Gardens, lunch for two people at the Japanese Gardens Restaurant hosted by Natalie Collins and a pair of tickets to the Taste of Kildare Festival of Food & Drink on Saturday, September 21st. There will be one winner.

10. All prizes will be subject to any additional terms and conditions of the supplier of the prize to the Promoter. The private tour of the Irish National Stud & Gardens is available Monday to Friday, subject to availability and through the season when it is open. The tickets for Taste of Kildare can only be used on Saturday, September 21st, 2024. No component of the prize can be refunded or redeemed for cash. The prize also excludes transfers, no alcohol included in the lunch at The Japanese Gardens Restaurant.

11. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss, damage or consequential damage of any nature in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise caused by the acceptance of the terms and conditions or in connection with the prize.

12. In the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for an alternative of equal or greater value.

13. The winners will be notified by email. The winner must claim the prize before Friday, September 20th, 2024. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with the Promotion rules.

14. The promoters’ decision is final and binding in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.

15. The winners’ details (name and county) will be made available on The Irish Times website.

16. The winner may be required to participate in unpaid publicity arising from this promotion.

17. The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in https://www.irishtimes.com/policy-and-terms/privacy-policy and as set out in these terms and conditions.

18. Prizes are non-transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

19. These terms and conditions shall be governed by Irish law and the Courts of the Republic of Ireland shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
