A man has been released without charge after being arrested in connection with a Drogheda gangland feud murder in 2019.

Keith Branigan was shot dead at the Ashling Holiday Park in Clogherhead, Co Louth, on Tuesday, August 27th, 2019. The 29 year old was the first person to be killed in a Drogheda gangland feud that saw several others shot and injured.

Earlier this week, a man (in his 40s) and a woman (in her 20s) were arrested by gardaí for questioning in connection with the murder.

On Friday, a Garda spokesman confirmed the man had been released without charge, with a file to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in the case. The spokesman said investigations were ongoing into the murder.
