A man has been charged in connection with the seizure of €220,000 worth of drugs, an imitation firearm and a small quantity of cash following a raid on a house in Cork on Thursday night.
The man, aged in his 30s, was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 is due to appear before Court number 1, Cork District Court, on Saturday morning.
The court appearance follows a search of a house in the Evergreen Road area of Cork City around 9pm on Thursday. An estimated €210,000 worth of cocaine and €10,000 worth of cannabis and €3,100 in cash were recovered.
Gardaí also recovered an imitation firearm in the search conducted as part of Operation Tara which is a national operation aimed at disrupting, dismantling and prosecuting drug trafficking networks.

The drugs have been sent to the Forensic Science Ireland laboratory in Dublin to confirm their purity and estimated street value.
