Two men have been arrested after a stabbing in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, on Saturday.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) were alerted to a report that a man had been stabbed in the Glenville Park area at about 8.25am.

The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police said a man aged in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon used with intent.

A second man aged in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon used with intent and disorderly behaviour, a PSNI statement said.

They were in custody on Saturday afternoon.
