An article in Saturday's newspaper (November 11th) incorrectly stated that the Teachers' Union of Ireland had endorsed the terms of the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness (PPF). In fact, the TUI rejected the PPF.
In Friday's newspaper it was stated in an article on the US electoral college system that Mr Mike Padden, a member for Washington State, had switched his vote in favour of President Gerald Ford. In fact, Mr Padden used a "write-in" switch mechanism in favour of Mr Ronald Reagan, who had earlier been defeated by Mr Ford for the Republican Party nomination.
Tonight's (November 14th) Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society talk by Padraig O Fiannachta is in Dingle Library at 8p.m. and not in Tralee, as stated in yesterday's newspaper.
Although the mandate for the appointment of the Right Rev Michael Mayes as Bishop of Limerick and Killaloe came from the Right Rev Walton Empey as Archbishop of Dublin, the archbishop was not present at Sunday's installation of Bishop Mayes, as was stated in yesterday's newspaper.
