A report in yesterday's editions stated wrongly that the late Shay Elliott won the Tour de France in 1963. He won third stage of the race that year and wore the leader's yellow jersey for three days. Stephen Roche is the only Irish winner of the Tour.

A headline in last Saturday's editions made reference to a "Fianna Fail rapid response unit". The unit in question should properly have been described as the new Government Communications Unit and is part of the Government Information Service.
