Contrary to the impression given in last Saturday's Quidnunc column, Prof Paul Bew is not a member of the Ulster Unionist Party.

A report headed "Historical Irish breed loses its noble rights" in last Saturday's editions said the 7th Marquis of Ormonde, James Butler, was the oldest Irish peer. In fact, Lord Ormonde died on October 24th, 1997.

Two companies were inadvertently omitted from the list of telecommunications licence awards in yesterday's editions. Transaction Network Services Ltd and Vianvi Ltd are among the 21 companies awarded general licences.
