SAMHLAIOCHT Chiarrai, a community arts festival based in Siamsa Tire in Tralee, runs from Saturday to Tuesday next. While the Nualas' "country gurls" comedy group plays on Sunday at 11 p.m. at the Brandon Hotel Conference Centre with Barry Murphy and Deirdre O'Kane, the emphasis is firmly on workshops and community projects. Among the activities over the weekend are pottery, writing, willow basket making, woodcarving, puppet making, lace making, jewellery making, set dancing, belly dancing, modern/jazz dancing, photography and all sorts of music.
