Big premieres for London festival

The London Film Festival kicks off on Wednesday

The London Film Festival kicks off on Wednesday. Prominent films include Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan, Sofia Coppola's Somewhereand Danny Boyle's 127 Hours.

There is also a significant Irish presence this year. Tom Hall's impressively creepy Sensation, recipient of good word at the recent Toronto Film Festival, is to screen, as will Risteard Ó Domhnaill's highly praised documentary The Pipe. Jerzy Skolimowski's Essential Killing, an Irish co-production, will also be unveiled at the event. bfi.org.uk/lff
