Promise of Eastern sequel

We tend to be a bit snitty about sequels, but now and then a film cries out for a second chapter.

Eastern Promises

was just such a beast. Now, it has emerged that Vincent Cassel and Viggo Mortensen are, indeed, likely to reunite with the Canadian master for

Eastern Promises 2.

“We talked very seriously about it, and it’s going to be shot in Russia,” Cassel said. “There’s a really good script, and Cronenberg wants to do it. I told them that whenever they’re ready, I’m there.”
