Hamilton Osborne King describes as "interesting" the auction of some 350 lots being held on the company's Blackrock premises next Wednesday.

Although there are some paintings, silver and porcelain in this sale, furniture predominates with most of the better pieces being 19th century mahogany.

This is true of a D-end dining table (estimate £1,500-£2,500) and a pair of hall chairs circa 1830 (£300-£400), as well as an Irish early 19th century sideboard (£600-£1,000) and an Irish mahogany and rosewood-banded fold-over card table from the same period (£1,000-£1,500).

Other furniture includes an oak pedestal desk (£500-£800) and a rosewood firescreen (£300-£500), both again 19th century. The sale begins at 2.30 p.m.
