Having mastered the football, NFL and hockey sports games, EA now turns to mixed martial arts. It's an area where THQ has already made its mark, with an official UFC game. There is no official UFC licence for EA Sports MMAbut the game doesn't suffer for it. EA has produced a solid, fun game that won't confuse new players with overly complicated controls. In fact, those who've played Fight Nightwill find the controls somewhat similar (using analogue sticks to control punches and kicks). You also have a number of modes to choose from, including career mode, exhibition mode and the MMA tutorial. The former is where the game really shines, allowing you to create your own fighter from scratch and take him through the different leagues under the guidance of a trainer, who teaches you the basics and sets up your fights.
