EA's popular sports franchise comes to the PlayStation Vita, and it's safe to say the jump has been a success. The hand-held version of the game retains enough of what makes Fifa great but also makes some adaptations for the portable platform. If you're already a fan of Fifa 12,you'll notice the similarities between the console game and the hand-held Vita version. The graphics, for one, are close to what you would have come to expect from the PS3 version. But the controls have been tweaked with the Vita in mind. For example, passing and throw-ins can be done by tapping on the touchscreen, something that the Vita's hardware allows for. Shooting is done with the rear panel on the Vita. It takes a bit of getting used to; the sensitivity of the panel means you can accidentally shoot at the goal without intending to. If you don't like the touch controls, you can disable them in the settings. The Vita version has plenty of modes too – Pro, career, tournament, and online play. However, if you're in possession of a 3G Vita, you'll still need wi-fi to gain access to EA's servers to play online.
