Perry Share from Sligo got in touch about an increase in the price Tesco Ireland charges for a kilo of olives. It has just jumped from €29.95 to €34.95. He suggests this is a little exorbitant compared with the €10 a kilo that the Real Olive Co in Cork charges. PriceWatch also checked out some Dublin prices and found that Superquinn charges €16.52 a kilo for its pick-and-mix range of olives, while Roy Fox's Gourmet Foodstore in Donnybrook charges from €15.37 to €19.47 a kilo for its gourmet olives. Tesco says it buys its olives from a single supplier but has been looking for an alternative source for some time. Watch this space.
