Artist: Bryan Adams
Genre: Rock
Label: Universal

Bryan Adams has operated under the “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” adage for most of his career, but now it’s time to shake things up. Well, sort of.

The Canadian rocker enlisted melody wizard Jeff Lynne of ELO on production for his 13th album – but strangely, it doesn't make much of a difference, other than to leave tracks like Do What You Gotta Do and That's Rock 'n' Roll sounding like Traveling Wilburys b-sides, or Brand New Day like a Tom Petty cast-off.

You get the feeling that Adams is capable of more than a further descent into MOR dadrock territory.

The acoustically strummed versions of several album tracks tacked onto the end, particularly Don't Even Try, hints at the album that might have been.
