Dublin band The Gorgeous Colours are taking an innovative approach to raising money for the completion of their new EP: they’re asking fans to pay for the finished product in advance to enable them to mix, master and fine-tune it.

The indie-rock five-piece are asking fans what they’d like in return for shelling out. Bassist Tim Groenland said it was likely that those who make a donation will receive a signed copy of the finished product and their name in the credits, but some of the more creative ideas include the option to join them on stage at the EP launch for a song, an intimate gig at their rehearsal room, or a five-a-side football challenge.

“We read an article about bands who were financing their albums through sites such as Kickstarter and Pledgemusic, but we’re veering towards using our own site, where our fans can pay into a PayPal account,” said Groenland. thegorgeouscolours.com
