Independent record stores the length and breadth of the country are putting the finishing touches to their plans for tomorrow’s Record Store Day celebrations.

Dublin's Tower Records is planning its biggest-ever event, with in-store performances on both floors from the likes of Steve Mason, Lykke Li and Enemies from 12pm. They'll also continue the party at The Workman's Club that night, where Ollie Cole, Cloud Castle Lake, Sacred Animals and more will play a free gig from 8pm.

Club nights Pogo and Earwiggle will also host a gig in honour of the day at Twisted Pepper, with several DJs and bands playing across three stages from 10pm.

Celtic Note on Nassau Street, meanwhile, will host an in-store performance by multi-million-selling American crooner Josh Groban, although entry is limited to those with wristbands.

In Cork, Plugd Records will open its new branch at Triskel Arts Centre tomorrow, Derry's Cool Discs will have live music from 2pm and plenty of special offers, while Dublin's All City Records and Limerick's Beats Working will host live DJs from 12pm. recordstoreday.com
