Japan caught Gold Panda’s attention some time ago and it was a couple of trips to the country in 2014 with photographer Laura Lewis which inspired his third album.

What's interesting about the work is a change of mood from 2013's Half Of Where You Live and a return to the more warm-hearted, playful and expansive sounds which made 2010's Lucky Shiner hum.

There’s far more spirit and energy on show here than before.

Tracks like Chibe Nights and Halyards have soundscapes where the trademark hazy beats and bumps are set off by superbly pitched percussion and drums, while the beautiful textures which he paints on tracks like Pink and Green and Metal Bird are reminiscent of Susumu Yokota's pastoral landscapes of old.
