The Heatwave collective has been running things on the London bashment scene since 2003. Gabriel Myddleton and friends started out with a dancehall night, added a reggaeton lick and were soon attracting attention for their gigs at east London’s Rhythm Factory, which blended all of the above plus grime, ragga, r’n’b and hip-hop too.

These days, The Heatwave’s posse of DJs, MCs and producers are still putting on quality nights out like Hot Wuk, which gives up- and-coming UK and visiting dancehall dons an early break.

Aside from the clubs, The Heatwave also host a weekly show on Rinse FM, put out releases on the Punchline label and work with acts such as Ward 21, Serocee, Lady Chann and others. Aside from The Heatwave’s Hot Wux mix, you also have the Junior Spesh DJs and Flush providing some quality bottom-end bounce.
