Oh Yeah! It's a birthday party

MUSIC NEWS: It seems like Belfast is the place to be this bank holiday weekend. Not only has the Cathedral Arts Quarter Festival just kicked off (running until May 13th), but the city's Oh Yeah! Music Centre – coincidentally, right in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter – is celebrating its fifth birthday tomorrow.

Founded in 2007 by a group of like-minded individuals that includes Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody, the centre acts as a hub for the city’s music scene, incorporating a studio, rehearsal rooms, a café, performance and exhibition spaces and office units for music-related businesses. To celebrate their milestone tomorrow, the centre will host a free open day that includes a tour of the building, film screenings, a BBQ and performances by Katie Richardson, Colly Strings and Fighting With Wire.

Tomorrow evening, a ticketed gig featuring Bronagh Gallagher, VerseChorusVerse, Robyn G Shiels, Our Krypton Son and more will take place in the venue.
