Pogues singer (57) injured after he reportedly fell ‘doing a complicated dance move’

Shane MacGowan, 57-year-old lead singer of the Pogues, is recovering from a broken pelvis after a fall.

The incident was revealed by the his partner Victoria Mary Clarke on Twitter, who explained that the singer had fallen while “doing a complicated dance move” and was taken to hospital on Wednesday night.

Clarke thanked fans of MacGowan who had tweeted get well messages, saying he was grateful for the messages and is “cranky, but recovering”.

She thanked fans again on Facebook, writing that “he is really moved and is feeling a whole lot better already.”

When asked how MacGowan was as a patient, Clarke joked that he was “not the best, but not the worst!” adding “I would hate it more, I think.”
