U2
2005 Vertigo - Live from Chicago
Universal/Island
****

You really can't fault the production values on this, taken from two concerts in Chicago last May. The Vertigo tour really jumps out thanks to state-of-the-art camera work and presentation. If it seems like a different concert than the one you saw in Europe, it's because this is the indoor US leg of the tour. Hence, U2 kick off here with City of Blinding Lights and finish with 40. Where this really takes off is with the old numbers, with Cry/Electric Co and An Cat Dubh really impressing. There's a mini-Zooropa tour towards the end, with Zoo Station and The Fly making appearances. If you're a fan, you'll love this. By the way, this comes in two different editions: a one-disc DVD which just has the concert, and a deluxe edition with the concert and tons of bonus extras on a second disc. Careful you get the one you're looking for.
