Between Pixies reunions and subsequent break-ups, stints in rehab, and getting her sideline project of The Breeders (the name, incidentally, is a term used by gays to describe straights – there you go) back together again, Kim Deal has been a busy woman. She's been through the usual music biz wars and come out the other side relatively unscathed; indeed, the release last year of Mountain Battles– the first Breeders' release since 2002's Title TK – signalled the band is still a force to be reckoned with.

The past year has seen them tour the world as part of a concerted effort to keep the flag flying. Expect a crack unit ready and able to do more than just that.
