UNIVERSITY College Cork's prestigious Eigse na Laof has been set aside this year for a much lower budget and local talent event, Trad on Campus. Sliabh Luachra box player, Johnny O'Leary, is the centre of Friday night's Aula Maxima concert. Joining him are Nomos singer, John Spillane, in a solo spot to mark his imminent new album, and Dundalk fiddle/flute/song duet Gerry O'Connor and Eithne Ni Uallachain. Sessioning fills the transitions and Saturday has a new event, the Intervarsity Traditional Music Group Competition in the Granary Theatre, with Matt Cranitch's Sliabh Notes group playing for the evening's sets ceili in Aras na Dige, Mardyke.
