THOMAS P. Adams of Blackrock, Dublin, will have more than 400 lots in its auction next Tuesday, starting at 11 a.m. Among the furniture on offer is a Victorian four-door breakfront bookcase, almost 100 inches high and 96 inches wide, which is estimated to sell for £3,000-£4,000.
From the same period, a giltwood console table and large overmantle ought to make £1,800-£2,500, and both a Victorian walnut chiffonier with serpentine marble top and a Victorian mahogany D-end dining table carry the same pre-sale estimate of £800-£1,200.
Rugs include an example of Heriz work (13 ft by 9 1/2ft), estimated to sell for £1,200-£1,400; a slightly smaller Tabriz carpet (£600-£800); and two Mahal runners (£450-£550 each). Among the paintings and prints there are pictures by Rosemary Coyle, Bridget Ganly and engravings of Dublin by William Allen. In addition, the sale also contains silver, silver plate and some jewellery.
