Final weekend of back-to-back events features an intriguing afternoon session, hokily titled The Girls of Letterfrack, devoted to fiddling siblings, Liz and Yvonne Kane. They are joined by Cherish the Ladies' accordionist Mirella Murray. Much more follows throughout the weekend, including father/ son fiddle duo The Conneelys, a rake of local and visiting musicians celebrating the life and music of Eddie Moloney, and a final intimate lunchtime session with Mick Crehan and friends.

And So I Watch You From Afar
Olympia, Dublin 8pm €59.50 olympia.ie

ASIWYFA have ripped up the rulebook when it comes to the success of supposedly noncommercial music. The Belfast band celebrates its 10th year (without co-founder Tony Wright, who left almost four years ago) as well as the success of their recent fourth album, Heirs, by playing their biggest headline Dublin gig to date.

TECHNO

Regis
Twisted Pepper, Dublin 11pm €15/€13 subjectevents.com

Karl O’Connor’s name is indeliblypart of the narrative of modern techno. As Downwards Records’ label boss, the man known as Regis has overseen a stream of strong, ground- breaking releases since the early 1990s. O’Connor has also contributed hugely to that haul, both with solo tracks and collaborations, such as his British Murder Boys project with Surgeon. Support tonight from capital city tech big cheese Sunil Sharpe.

JAZZ & BEYOND

Listen at Wellington
Wellington, Dublin 7pm €10/€5, listen.ie

Composer/impresario Dylan Rynhart’s monthly salon at the Wellington is rapidly assuming unmissable status for those looking to know where creative music is headed in Ireland these days. This month there’s spoken word from Billy O Hanluain; a Terrry Riley tribute from cellist Kate Ellis and her new quartet; songs from pop adventuress Abigail Smith; Laura Hyland’s experimental Clang Syne group; and audiovisuals from composer Anna Murray. So many performers will leave precious little room left for the audience, so note the early start time – and arrive even earlier.

ART

The Enhanced Eye
Catherine Hammond Gallery, Glengariff , Co Cork hammondgallery.com

Painters have used photography since its invention, often as a reference and a pictorial aid and, since the mid-20th century, a subject in itself. The works of Catherine Barron, Oonagh Hurley, Frances Ryan, Wendy Seller and Cara Thorpe is deeply immersed in photography, whether they look to the conventions of the family photograph or visit imaginary places. An intriguing group show.
