Blurred Lines
Project Arts Centre Dublin 6pm €23/€17

Blurred Lines sees busy events collective Homebeat set up shop on East Essex Street with a stirring selection of electronic music makers. This is said to be Jan Jelinek’s first ever Dublin appearance, which is kind of surprising given that the German minimal wizard has been producing fine records since 2001’s groundbreaking Loop-finding-jazz-records. He’s joined this evening by Somadrone, Ben Bix (a solo turn from the Meltybrains? member) and newcomer Feather.

Pecha Kucha Night
Grand Social, Dublin €5 7pm
thegrandsocial.ie

Pecha Kucha Night was devised in Tokyo, and therefore must be brilliant, in 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and share their work. The Irish Architecture Foundation and Totally Dublin are organising this one, with activists, architects, botanists, directors and designers speaking around the theme of Spring (and yes my apple trees are flowering very nicely, now that you ask, but the lawn’s patchiness remains stubborn to my fertilising charms).

Each speaker gets 20 images, and 20 seconds to explain their work through each one. Among those showing the Grand Social what’s what are Anne Bedos (Rothar), Concrete Collar, Broden Giambrone (Transgender Equality Network Ireland), Michael Hayes (2ha/Architecture Ireland), Matthew Jebb (National Botanic Gardens), Alex Milton (Irish Design 2015), Rosie O’Reilly (Re-Dress), Studio Red Architects and many more. See facebook for details.
