“We are sending a shipment of knitwear to New York, to London, to Miami, to Boston – we are flat out,” says Lainey Keogh from her studio in Wicklow.
Through her friends Paddy and Claire Dunning who run Grouse Lodge recording studios in Westmeath, where Daphne Guinness recorded her first music single, the designer has become friends with Guinness who is “ feasting” on Lainey’s knits, wearing them for “breakfast, dinner and tea”, she says.
Guinness also introduced her to pioneering photographer Nick Knight, founder of fashion website Showstudio with whom she collaborates and who has given Lainey a pop-up space in his new exhibition premises at 19 Motcomb Street in Belgravia until December 19th, where she will be selling her latest cosy cashmere knits “and hoping not to disappoint” her many fans there.
