The recession years saw a four-fold increase in demand for solid-fuel stoves as homeowners sought to save heat from disappearing up the average Irish chimney.
Irish company Waterford Stanley, which makes stoves and range-style cookers, has declared this to be National Heat Week and and is offering money off on selected models at Stanley Centres and stockists across the country in the next seven days, along with free bales of briquettes and kiln-dried logs.
There’s also a chance to win a livingroom make-over worth €5,000, including a stove, along with advice from designer Denise O’Connor.
