Best Shops: which county is leading the pack?

The numbers have changed completely in the last week, is your county now winning the race for most nominations?

The competition has retained a strong Dublin focus has 39.5 per cent of the overall vote coming from this county at the end of week three. At the end of week one Dublin had 42 per cent of the total vote. At this point in the competition the Dubs are shouting loudest about their food and drink shops and love posing in the capital’s cafes and teashops.

Nine other counties account for 47 per cent of the total vote.  On July 10th Wicklow and Tipperary shared joint second place but Wicklow has fallen back to third place and Tipperary to fifth position. Tipperary, who started really strong, is lagging behind the Stone Thrower’s strong supporters of local commerce at 4.5 per cent of all nominations.

It’s the rebels who are now in second place with 10 per cent of nominations coming from the second capital where they love their grooming salons and their gifts and interior design shops.

Wicklow is snapping at Cork’s heels with eight per cent of the vote coming from the Garden of Ireland.
