The Irish Georgian Society’s spring lunchtime lecture series on conserving period homes begins on Tuesday, March 1st. Popular among owners of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian houses and architects, the series covers a fantastic range of subjects, from restoring decorative plasterwork to caring for historic brick and windows, to energy upgrades in protected structures.

Dublin City Council heritage officer, Charles Duggan will give the first talk on Dublin's domestic architecture on March 1st. Conservation architect Jacqui Donnelly will speak about the implications of owning a protected structure on March 8th and chartered building surveyor Frank Keohane, will give practical tips on conservation and maintenance of historic homes on March 15th. Subsequent lectures will focus on specific historic features and their conservation.

The hour-long lectures will take place on Tuesdays at 1pm in the Helen Roe Theatre, Royal Society of Antiquities of Ireland, 63 Merrion Square, Dublin 2.

Tickets cost €15 at the door for each talk or €125 in advance for the series of 12 lectures.
