This Barcelona daybed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is a design classic that fell out of favour after the boom era because so many copies had been used in upscale apartment developments. Ikea does a really good range of affordable daybeds including a pretty wrought iron one that works well indoors and outside. Pictured is the new Soderhamn chaise longue which comes with cotton polyester covers and costs €425. Also noteworthy is the new wickerwork Sandhaug side table with a removable serving tray lid for breakfast in bed, and with storage inside. It comes in two sizes, €50 and €70 (pictured). ikea.ie
