Mother Redcaps bric-a-brac market at Christchurch, Dublin 8, which is being targeted for redevelopment, has failed to sell at tender. Lambert Smith Hampton, which had been quoting a price of over £9 million (11.4m), is now in discussion with a number of interested parties.
The complex includes a bar, function room, development site and an adjoining office investment producing a rental income of £60,000 (76,180) per annum. The Mother Redcaps market, which closed recently, had been operating since the late 1980s in the former Winstanley shoe factory. The site covers an area of 0.54 acres and includes the Mother Redcaps licensed premises which dates back to 1857.
