New homes: Mock Georgian in Enniskerry for €1.275m

Eagle Valley is an estate on the edge of Powerscourt House and Gardens. Dubbed during "millionaires' row" during the boom, it is an American-style estate of mock Tudor, Georgian and Victorian detached redbricks that was built in 1996 by Castleknock-based developer Larry Keegan on lands sold by the Slazenger family who owned the Powerscourt Estate.

Keegan also developed Collegewood, Collegefort and Castleknock Gate in Dublin 15.

There is an element of Wisteria Lane about the perfection of the houses. In the driveways are lots of new cars and top-class SUVs, some used to ferry the kids down the road to either of Enniskerry’s two primary schools.

Set on about 15 acres of land and comprising about 100 houses, it benefits from the mature trees of Powerscourt and has two large green areas where kids can play.

Keegan kept two corner sites and gave them to his children, who have built a five-bedroom detached neo-Georgian house on each.

The properties feature reconstituted stone windows and quoins and an imposing porticoed front.

Mature development

Built in 2014, numbers 42A and 80A were lived in briefly and are now being placed on the market for €1.275 million through agent Sherry FitzGerald.

Each house is A-rated and measures 288sq m (3,100sq ft) in size. While new, the two houses are in a mature development.

Each has a large formal sittingroom, accessed from the hall via double doors. Across the hall is a TV room.

From the formal sittingroom, double doors lead through to the large kitchen, by QK Living, which spans the width of the house and includes a sizeable dining area. Patio doors lead out to the garden.

There is a games room off the kitchen of number 42A. Upstairs there are five bedrooms, two of which are en suite.
