UK FASHION retailer Next is to open a large store at The Square in Tallaght, west Dublin, as part of its expansion plans. The company has just reported profits of £158 million sterling for 1996. Next is likely to be paying slightly over £160,000 for the 4,700-square-foot unit, which is located in the newly completed extension. Electrical multiple Dixons had earlier agreed to take the store but withdrew from the deal when it took over the Harry Moore company, which already had an outlet on the third level. Next will be able to avail of double rent allowances in Tallaght but, unlike traders in the main centre, will have to pay rates. The company also has shops in Grafton Street, the Jervis Centre, Blackrock, Waterford and Limerick.

Jones Lang Wootton are letting agents for The Square.
