The idea at number 19 Lanesville in Monkstown was to create a home with minimal furniture and blasts of colour, explains architect and developer Catriona Cantwell (087 650 2227), the projects architect and interior designer.

The talking point in the livingroom is the pair of 1970s Arcana chairs with black leather seats and tubular steel frames which Catriona found in Retrospect (01-672 6188). Expect to pay around €700 for a similar pair.

The white gloss Imfors coffee table came from Ikea in Belfast, price €107. A grey felt Bo Concept couch was sourced from Living in Bray (01-282 8905). It has two similar styles, the Diva, which has a low-set back, price from €880, and the Nova, which has scallop-back cushions, price from €1,899. Living currently has a sale with 15 per cent off prices above.

The chocolate walnut and white mid-sheen gloss kitchen was created by Langrell in Kiltegan in Co Wicklow (059-647 3548). Expect to pay upwards of €15,000 for something similar.
