Lisney achieved its top corporate rent of the year with the letting of the Turrets in Rathmichael, Co Dublin, for €10,000 per month. The house failed to sell when it went on the market in September for €3.5 million and the owner decided to rent it instead.
Its fantastical fairytale design and vast proportions must have appealed to its new tenants, a family relocating from abroad. It is 815 sq m (8,772 sq ft) with views across Dublin Bay, and has four reception rooms, six bedrooms, five bathrooms and an elaborate €250,000 stone water feature.
Situated off Ferndale Road in Rathmichael Haven, a cul-de-sac of detached homes, the Turrets also has an Italian garden and an entertainments room. The master suite has a dressingroom, and a sunken Jacuzzi.
Caroline McArdle of Lisney said as the top rent so far this year for Lisney's Dún Laoghaire and St Stephen's Green offices, it augurs well for the corporate market next year. Lisney has a number of other properties on its books asking rents of €11,000 to €13,000 per month but it remains to be seen whether these will be achieved.
