A POLL of nearly 5,300 Irish motorists has found that 21 per cent still plan to change cars next year, despite the economic downturn.
The survey, carried out by the AA in recent weeks, showed that while 12 per cent said that they were initially going to buy but were now holding back, 7.1 per cent said that the economic situation means they are now going to buy a car next year and benefit from the bargains on offer.
While the buyers did not specify what age or type of car they were going to buy, AA spokesman Conor Faughnan says it clearly shows buyers are out there. He said it was a larger percentage than he expected in the current circumstances.
