Honda unveils two new models
Honda is preparing to release its smallest capacity ABS-equipped motorcycle in Brazil, according to reports from MCN magazine. The new Honda XRE300 trail bike is powered by a 25bhp air- cooled 291cc DOHC four- valve single-cylinder engine. It has 20lb-ft of torque, and weighs in at a very heavy 144kgs.
According to MCN, there is also an ABS-equipped version with a three-piston caliper, which adds 7kg of weight as well as bulky ABS components under the left- hand rear side panel.
Meanwhile in India, Honda has released a low-tech, environmentally friendly new little motorcycle called the CB Twister 110.
The Twister has a single cylinder, air-cooled 109cc engine, and a fuel economy of 70 kms per litre or
164.5 mpg. It produces a modest nine horsepower, with a four-speed gearbox and weighs in at almost 110kgs full of fluids.
It’s also aggressively styled, making it look like a speedy, powerful motorcycle and it’s cheap, costing just $900 (about €625).
BMW goes Dutch with S1000RR
BMW motorcycles are releasing a limited edition carbon S1000RR in the Netherlands.
The Dutch market is the only market being treated to this powerful new BMW machine, which features a carbon fibre fairing, traction control, ABS, alarm, rear sets and an Akrapovic exhaust.
The BMW Carbon S1000R is expected to cost around €24,990.
