MotorsBooks: White Line Fever:A new illustrated history of Irish road racing has been published, a photographic trawl through the ages of the particularly Irish racing phenomenon.
A pictorial history of 60 years of the sport, White Line Fever starts with images from the Ulster Grand Prix in the 1940s but its real strength is in the striking photos of road racing from the 1970s onwards.
Compiled by photographer Alastair McCook, it's a colourful tribute to a sport that's inherently dangerous, with bikes capable of speeds of over 200mph racing alongside stone walls and lampposts.
