DUBLIN:

The road between Kilgobbin Rd and Leopardstown Rd closed until October 13th. Closure has been extended to construct a roundabout at the Gallops. Local and emergency access is maintained at all times. Signposted diversions via Kilgobbin Road and Leopardstown Road. Traffic Management Plan is in operation.

On October 7th and 8th Hawkins Street in the city centre will close from 8am to 5pm daily, for a food market. Diversion routes: traffic from Burgh Quay will divert via D'Olier Street. Traffic from Poolbeg Street will divert via Tara Street, Burgh Quay and D'Olier Street. Arrangements will be made with Dublin Bus. Pedestrian access and local vehicular access maintained at all times.

MEATH:

The Old Road, Athlumney in Navan, is closed to through traffic from the junction with the R153 (at Gaffney's Statoil Service Station) to junction with Cr 735 (at Alexander Reid) from today until November 30th, 2006. The council also advises that R153 Kentstown Road in Navan from junction with road Cr 388 Old Road Athlumney at Gaffney's Statoil Service Station to junction with Forfás Road also closed. Closures are for essential infrastructural works. Alternative routes in place.

WESTMEATH:

Until October 23rd the N52 Tullamore to Mullingar Road at Carrick Bridge, Dalystown closed to all traffic at Carrick Bridge for replacement of the River Bridge at Carrick. Alternative routes: northbound for Mullingar on N52 from Tullamore, and N6 from Athlone will travel via N6 from Kilbeggan through Tyrrellspass and divert at Rochfortbridge along R400 to Mullingar. Southbound from Mullingar on N52 will divert via R400 to Rochfortbridge and via N6 to Kilbeggan.

KILKENNY:

Major resurfacing works on N10 Ring road at the Bennettsbridge and Waterford Road roundabout. Stop/go system until Saturday, October 7th, 9am to 9pm. Ring road traffic reduced to single lane on the approaches to the roundabouts. Diversion signs will be in operation. Expect delays on the ring road, allow extra time for the journey.

LOUTH:

Until about October 24th roadworks on N2 at Collon. Stop/go system with single lane restrictions on 24-hour basis. Works from 8am to 6pm each day, may also include weekend work. Expect delays.

GALWAY:

Until October 11th on the N18 from Claregalway to Lydican expect delays due to major road works. Use the alternative route via N17 Tuam Road or R339 Monivea Rd if possible. Traffic control will be in place.

Until October 8th, the Ballinasloe Fair, one of Europe's oldest horse fairs will take place. There is something at this festival to suit all tastes, including horses and pony events, show jumping, street stalls, fireworks, tug-o'-war and much more. Ballinasloe is on the N6 main Dublin to Galway road. The town is served by trains and buses daily. Expect major delays on the N6.

CORK:

Until Friday, October 13th, the R619 - from Tullig Crossroads to Luskin's Bridge East Cross (junction to Berrings) will close for works. Alternative routes: at Crean's Crossroads - traffic going south towards Coachford will divert via R579 to Gallock's Cross, Cloghroe, along R622 to Cannon's Cross and along R618 via Dripsey to Coachford. At Coachford - traffic going north towards Donoughmore/Mallow will divert via R618 via Dripsey to Cannon's Cross, along R622 to Gallock's Cross, Cloghroe and along R579 to Crean's Crossroads.

Tomorrow Popes Quay will be closed from 9pm to 6.30am Thursday and Friday night for resurfacing works.

The North Gate Bridge, Shandon Street and Sundays Well Road will be closed from 10pm to 6:30am Thursday and Friday nights for resurfacing works.

On Friday, October 6th, Francis Street will be closed from 9am to 4pm. Alfred Street will be closed from 9:30am to 6:00pm for resurfacing works.

Ship Street will be closed from 9pm Friday night to 6.30am Saturday for resurfacing works.
