Routes to avoid around the country
DUBLIN:
On Friday June 30th and Saturday July 1st, roads in the Skerries area will be closed for a motorcycle race. The routes are as follows: part of the R127 from Balcunnin Cross towards Skerries, the Baldongan-Milverton Rd to the intersection with the Baldongan-Skerries Rd, part of the Baldongan-Skerries Rd in direction of Baldongan Cross, part of the Ladywell-Ballykea Rd from Baldongan Cross to Balcunnin Cross. The main diversion route for vehicles travelling from Lusk to Skerries is via the main roads - Lusk to Rush and Rush to Skerries.
From 4am on July 8th until 6pm on July 9th, Forest Rd, Swords will close from Rathingle/Boroimhe junction to Main Street/Dublin Rd.
The closure is to facilitate works between Ballintrane Wood and the entrance to Highfield Estate. This is the first phase of works on the Lower Forest Road. Traffic diversions will be in place.
Until July 29th, the Old Swords Rd is closed between Collins Avenue and the Swords Rd/Larkhill Rd from 7am to 7pm daily.
CORK:
From 9.30am today until August 28th, there will be no left turn from Parliament St on to the Grand Parade. This is to facilitate works on the Grand Parade Streetscape Renewal Scheme.
Until Wednesday July 12th, L2212-0, Barry's Rd between Kilumney Rd and Ballincollig Main St will close. Alternative Routes are via Greenfields Estate Road, Ballincollig. The purpose of the temporary closure is to facilitate sewer works.
On Thursday June 29th and Friday June 30th, resurfacing works will be carried out on Mt Agnes Road and Churchfield Avenue. The works will be in place from 8am to 7pm each day.
Until Friday, June 30th, Ballea Road (Carrigaline) is closed to public traffic from 8am to 6pm daily. Eastbound traffic at Ballea should take the LP 2473 to Ballinrea Cross, turn right to Ballinrea Road via the LP 2464, and right at Ashgrove Roundabout to the R611. Westbound Traffic at the Church Roundabout should head north on R611 to Ashgrove Roundabout, turn left via the Ballinrea Road LP 2464, and at Ballinrea Cross turn left via the LP2473 to Ballea.
GALWAY:
Major road works are in place on the N17 between Claregalway and Galway city, until July 6th. Detours in place via Carnmore Cross. Please use alternative route via N84 (Headford Rd) or R339 Monivea Rd if possible.
KERRY:
Since 8am on Monday, until 6pm Friday 18th August, the R556 (Dale Road) from Ballinclogher Cross to Aghabeg Cross will be closed to public traffic for road reconstruction works. Diversions will be in place and alternative routes will be clearly signposted.
MEATH:
Until Monday, July 24th, the R156 Dunboyne to Clonee Rd is closed. Expect delays on the N3 approaching this junction, due to diversion routes operating.
WICKLOW:
Since Monday, until at least Friday July 18th, temporary traffic lights are in place on the R760 between Tinnehinch Bridge and Lover's Leap Lane. This is for the laying of a new 180 mm water main from Lover's Leap Lane.
