Routes to avoid this week
DUBLIN
Roadworks will be carried out along the North Road between the St Margaret's Roundabout, Finglas, and the M50 until at the end of the week. The outside lane will be closed off for pipelaying and all traffic will have to use the bus lane. The work will switch lanes until at least this Friday.
Ballyman Rd is closed from Ballyman Lane to Barnaslingan Lane for drainage works until August 24th. Alternative route: through Ferndale Rd, Rathmichael Rd, Ballycorus Rd and Enniskerry Rd. Diversions will be signposted.
Upper Churchtown Rd is closed overnight between Taney Cross and Old Churchtown Rd from 8pm to 6am weekdays until this Friday.
The entire junction of Taney Cross will close at weekends from 8pm Saturdays to 6am Mondays from this Saturday until September 2nd.
CORK
Mallow- Killarney (N72) will close daily between Sandpit House junction and Rathmore until July 17th from 8am to 5pm. Diversions are in place and local businesses are open as normal.
TIPPERARY
Roadworks and temporary traffic lights are operating daily on the N8, north of Cashel at Ballysheenan Mon - Fri from 8am to 4.30pm until Friday. Outside of these hours the lights will flash amber to warn motorists of restrictions.
DONEGAL
Roadworks continue at Port Bridge Roundabout, Letterkenny, until tomorrow operating daily from 8am to 5.30pm. Restrictions are in place on all approaches to roundabout with traffic down from two lanes to one. Delays mainly affect those on Derry Rd into and out of Letterkenny.
LONGFORD
Traffic is reduced to one lane on Main St, Granard towards Barrack St with temporary traffic lights in operation. Roadworks will continue until about July 15th.
EVENTS
• The 10-day Killarney SummerFest continues until July 7th.
• The fourth annual Fourth of July parade takes place in Dun Laoghaire, tomorrow. An evening parade will pass through the town, beginning at 7.30pm at Old Dunleary, onto Cumberland St, Georges St, Park Rd, the Seafront, Marine Rd, Michael's Church and Patrick St. The parade will be facilitated by a 'rolling closure' of the route, and a view stand may be located at the County Hall
• The Anna Livia International Opera Festival takes place in Dublin city from July 7th to 14th with various concerts in the National Concert Hall, the Gaeity Theatre, and St Stephen's Green.
