Routes to avoid around the country
DUBLIN:
Road closures for St Patrick's Day Parade as follows:
* 5am to 12.30pm Western Way
* 7am to 1pm Dominick St Upper, Mountjoy St, St Mary's Place North, Granby Way, Parnell Sq North, Parnell Sq East, O'Connell Bridge, O'Connell St (West Lane) will be closed
* 7am to 2pm: Westmoreland St, College Green, Dame St, Lord Edward St, Christchurch Place
* 7am to 2.30pm: Nicholas St and Patrick St
* 10am to 3.30pm: Clanbrassil St Lower (Kevin St to South Circular Rd)
Options for travelling to the Parade :
- LUAS services have Saturday timetable, starting 6.30am, last tram at 12.30am. Extra trams before and after the parade. On Red LUAS line some changes for the Parade: from 11am until 2pm Red LUAS line will run only to and from Smithfield, with a tram from Smithfield to Jervis every half hour between 11am - 2pm.
- Full Dart Services and extra trains before and after parade.
For the Big Day Out Event, Merrion Sq West closed daily from 8am to 7pm.
On Sunday March 19th Fitzwilliam St Lwr, Merrion Sq East, Merrion Sq South, Merrion St Upper from Fitzwilliam Lane to Merrion Sq South, Mount St Upper to junction James St East closed.
On Friday March 17th, for a road race, traffic restrictions in Phoenix Park. Chapelizod Gate closed, 10am-11am, Knockmaroon Gate from 10am-10.30am.Top Glen Rd, Acres Rd and Chesterfield Rd from Phoenix Monument to Mountjoy Cross closed from 10am-11am. Ordnance Survey Rd closed from 10am-11.30am.
From March 20th until December, works on Rock Rd in Blackrock. Four lanes reduced to two. Delays likely.
Until tomorrow, Kilshane Rd/Newtown Link road closed from 8.30pm until 6am. Closures from Kilshane Cross to roundabout on St Margaret's bypass. Alternative routes: via St Margaret's Rd, North Rd or Kilshane Rd/Northwest Business Park Distributor Rd/Ratoath Rd/Ward Rd. Works are for road and drainage repairs on Kilshane/Newtown Link Rd.
LAOIS:
Until further notice works on N7 between Mountrath & Castletown 8.30am to 6pm daily.
GALWAY:
Roadworks on Dublin Rd at Merlin Park - expect delays.
CORK:
Major roadworks tomorrow at Casey's Cross Roundabout, 7pm until 6am, Monday March 20th.
Expect delays tomorrow on Melbourne Road, 9.30am to 4pm. Union Quay and Copley Street closed, 6pm to 4pm on Friday March 17th, for St Patrick's Day Festival.
Alfred St closed tomorrow from 6pm until 6pm Monday March 20th, for street carnival.
On Friday March 17th, Half Moon St, Academy St and Emmet Place closed, 9am to 5pm for food and craft market.
Also on St Patrick's Day, the following will be closed for the parade from 11.45am: St Patrick's St, St Patrick's Quay (Ship St to St Patrick's Bridge) Lavitt's Quay (Christy Ring Bridge to St Patrick's Bridge) Coburg St, St Patrick's Hill, McCurtain St, Brian Boru St, Anderson's Quay, Merchant's Quay, Parliament St, South Mall, Tuckey St, St Augustine's St, Washington St, (Courthouse St to Grand Parade) Paul St.
On St Patrick's Day, Park & Ride facility from Black Ash: first bus from Black Ash at 9am, last Bus from Lapps Quay, 7.15pm.
