Routes to avoid around the country
DUBLIN:
From 7am April 8th to 10pm April 9th, the southbound carriageway (including QBC) will close from the Coolock Interchange to Collins Ave. This is for Port Tunnel Works.
Until Saturday May 27th, The Metals in Glenageary is closed between Eden Road Upper and Adelaide Road. The alternative route for cyclists and pedestrians is via Eden Road Lower and Adelaide Road.
Until Friday April 7th at 6am, part of Harbour Rd, Balbriggan, from its junction with Quay St to the railway line over the bridge is closed. This is to facilitate water works. Alternative routes will be in place.
Until March 2007, major road works are underway on the Rock Road, Blackrock, between Trimleston and Mount Merrion Avenue.
Until April 2006, there will be a temporary banning of right turns between Trimleston Avenue and Booterstown Avenue to optimise the throughput of traffic on the Rock Road. There will also be a temporary suspension of bus stops, and car parking. Most disruption will be caused to traffic between now and September 2006.
CORK:
From Wednesday April 5th until Saturday April 8th, the Jack Lynch Tunnel will be closed each night from 8pm until 7am the following morning for scheduled maintenance work. The work will be finished by 7am on Saturday April 8th.
On Wednesday April 5th, Thursday April 6th and Friday April 7th, delays are likely on Pearse Road from The Lough to Friars Walk. This is due to road works.
Until Friday April 7th, lane restrictions are in place on the Tivoli dual carriageway 9.30am to 4.00pm each day.
GALWAY:
Until Thursday the 13th of April works are underway on the N17 on the Miltown side of Tuam near the Dunmore Rd Junction. The works will be in place from 8am to 6pm daily.
KILKENNY:
On April 5th there is a Race Meeting at Gowran Park, Mill Road, Gowran, Co Kilkenny. Gowran Park is situated just outside Gowran Village on the Dublin to Waterford Road (N9). First race is off at 16:35, last race is at 19:05 so beware of possible heavy traffic on the N9 both before and after the event.
LIMERICK:
Until 5pm Friday April 28th, Lower Golf Links Road is closed from Ballysimon Road for 300m north towards Castletroy. This is a 24-hour closure in order to facilitate the placement of a sewer.
