Routes to avoid around the country this week
DUBLIN:
On Saturday April 1st, part of Rush Rd, Holmpatrick, Skerries, from junction with Miller's Lane to its junction with Shenick Rd will be closed, until Sunday April 2nd at 6pm.
Alternative route for those travelling from Skerries to Rush is via Miller's Lane and Shenick Rd. And for those travelling from Rush to Skerries vice versa.
From Saturday April 1st to Saturday May 27th, The Metals in Glenageary will be closed between Eden Road Upper and Adelaide Road. The alternative route for cyclists and pedestrians will be via Eden Road Lower and Adelaide Road. A traffic management plan will be in operation and diversions will be signposted.
On Monday April 3rd from 6am, part of Harbour Rd, Balbriggan, from its junction with Quay St to the railway line over the bridge is closed.
This is to facilitate water works and will continue until Friday April 7th at 6am. The alternative routes are as follows; to access the Harbour area from the direction of Drogheda St go via Mill St and Harbour Rd.
And to exit the Harbour area you can go via Harbour Rd & George's Hill or Via Harbour Rd, George's Hill, Station Rd and Convent Lane. Diversion signs will be in place.
Until March 2007, major road works are underway on the Rock Road, Blackrock, between Trimleston and Mount Merrion Avenue. Until next month, there will be a temporary banning of right turns between Trimleston Avenue and Booterstown Avenue to optimise the throughput of traffic on the Rock Road.
There will also be a temporary suspension of bus stops, a temporary suspension of car parking and the speed limit in the area will be 30km.
Most disruption will be caused to traffic between now and September 2006. At this time, traffic lanes will be reduced from the present four lanes to two lanes. There will be one lane for inbound traffic and one lane for outbound traffic.
WESTMEATH:
Since last Friday, overlay works will be carried out on the Kilbeggan to Ballinagore road from 8am to 6.30pm daily.
The works will be in place until Friday April 7th, and delays are expected.
GALWAY:
Works have begun on the N17 on the Miltown side of Tuam near the Dunmore Road Junction. The works will be in place from 8am to 6pm daily until Thursday April 13th approximately.
CORK:
Possible delays today because of works on the Kerry Rd.
Today and tomorrow delays possible because of works on Kylemore Road and on Mardyke Walk, from 9.30am to 5pm.
Also today there may be delays on Lancaster Quay from 7.30pm to 1am.
From today until Friday, lane restrictions on N8 Tivoli Dual carriageway between Tivoli Overbridge and Dunkettle Roundabout. Fast lane in both directions closed from 9.30am to 4pm for installation of safety barriers in the median area.
From today until Friday, possible delays each night on Frenche's Quay, Bishop St and Leitrim St from 7pm to 11pm.
Fr Mathew St closed until tomorrow.
On Friday there may be delays, 9.30am to 4.30pm with works on Boreenmanna Road, Fairfield Ave and Fairfield Road.
