A relentless stream of selfies, constant status updates and bombardments of emojis have us wondering why Facebook deleted the “dislike” button. But all that is mildly irritating compared to extreme social media misusers – the people we can’t block quick enough.

The Eeyores of the internet are a funny bunch. Their why-does-it-always-rain-on-me mentality would be somewhat entertaining if it wasn’t a tad depressing.

Their cousin, the hypochondriac, isn’t much better, posting photos of IVs, bruises and hospital beds. Who’s got time for those when there’s baby memes to laugh at?

Or for the self-proclaimed experts with too much to say. Between the politics guy who uses Twitter to pontificate on a whole lot of nothing, to the music head who thinks everyone cares about the cross-pollination of metal and electro, we’ve never been more inclined to type, “Nobody cares.”

Likewise with activists. The occasional diatribe doesn’t hurt, and we respect their passion, kind of, except for animal rights protesters.

We love cats and dogs too and that’s why we don’t want to see videos of horrible things that have happened to them. You may think you’re raising awareness, but inflicting cruelty on your friends without consent isn’t cool.
