London - A worldwide hunt for the young star to play the boy wizard Harry Potter ended when a British actor, Daniel Radcliffe (11) was offered the coveted role.
The boy is known for last year's BBC adaptation of Dickens's David Copperfield, in which he played David as a youngster. Studio bosses considered thousands of talented young hopefuls for the role and Radcliffe's success was announced on the Internet. Chris Columbus, director of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, said: "We saw so many enormously talented kids in the search for Harry."
