12 appear on weapons charges

Twelve men appeared at Craigavon Magistrate's Court yesterday accused of possessing a revolver and seven rounds of ammunition last August 20th. They are also accused of possession of a firearm, imitation firearms, sledgehammers, cudgels, gloves and inflammable liquid under suspicious circumstances.

A third charge accuses them of damaging the Golden Hind Bar belonging to Mr John Robinson Portadown.

They are: Mr Mark Alan Quail (23), unemployed, Ballyronan Park, Rathcoole; Mr James Dodds (22), shipyard worker, Parkmount Parade; Mr John Patterson Hill (27), unemployed, Gainsborough Drive; Mr Barry Stockman (35), plasterer, Fairhill Park; Mr Gary Haggarty, (26), unemployed, Mountvernon Park; Mr Albert Andrew Ferran (19), boatman, Seaview Drive; Mr David Hugh Miller (26) unemployed, York Park; Mr Darren Stuart Moore (29), unemployed, Alexandra Park Avenue; Mr Mark Haddock (29), unemployed, Mountvernon Gardens; Mr William Logue (19), unemployed, Ross House; Mr Clarke Wallace (29), unemployed, York Park, Shore Road; and Mr Ronald Bowe (21) shop assistant, Ross House, all Belfast. They were remanded in custody.
